MINNEAPOLIS- The Gophers return to Big Ten play this weekend as they head to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Last Time Out
- The Gophers picked up two midweek victories over SDSU and St. Thomas. Minnesota beat SDSU 4-3 on Tuesday and beat the Tommies 12-2 (7 innings) on Wednesday.
Scouting the Buckeyes
- The Buckeyes are currently 2-10 in the Big Ten and 8-21 overall.
- Offensively, they are led by Tyler Pettorini who is slashing .355/.645/.413.
- The Buckeyes are led by head coach Justin Haire, who took over the program in June 2024, making this his first season at the helm.
- Haire was previously the head coach at Campbell for ten seasons.
Opponent Series History
- The Gophers and the Buckeyes first met back in 1923. The two squads squared off most recently in 2023 when the 'U' traveled to Columbus, Ohio and picked up the 2-1 series victory over the Buckeyes.
What's on Deck
- The Gophers will be back at Siebert Field for two midweek games versus North Dakota State University (April 15th) and South Dakota State University (April 16th). Minnesota is then back on the road for a Big Ten series versus Rutgers.
