Gophers Close Out 2026 Regular Season at Home Against No. 24 Nebraska

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Minnesota baseball team closes out the 2026 regular season this weekend with home field advantage, hosting the No. 24 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers at Siebert Field for a three game series with a spot in Omaha on the line.

-Senior outfielder Easton Richter leads Minnesota in individual stolen bases this season, tallying 18 through his 49 appearances this year.

 

Walks Will Haunt

 

-Minnesota ranks second throughout the Big Ten in walks drawn this season, tallying 274 bases on balls this spring through 50 games.

 

-Junior shortstop Jack Spanier leads the Gophers in individual drawn walks, tallying 45 bases on balls through 48 total appearances this year.

The Best Offense is a Good Defense

 

-The Minnesota defense has been a highlight of the 2026 season thus far, ranking third in the Big Ten conference and tied for eighth in the nation for fielding percentage with a .982.
