‘U’ Heads to Columbus for Robert Kepler Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Minnesota men's golf team resumes its spring season at the Robert Kepler Invitational April 11-12, hosted by Ohio State. The first round will begin at 6:30 a.m. CT Saturday, followed immediately by the second round. The final round will commence around 6:30 a.m. CT on Sunday morning with all 54 holes taking place at Columbus Country Club.
The Golden Gophers are coming off a top-10 performance at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate (Mar. 23-24), finishing with a team score of 8-over-par. This was the team's third-consecutive tournament finishing in the top 10.
Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu and freshman Torger Ohe led the team with matching scores of 1-under-par (215), tying for 22nd place among the field. Wu has finished under par in six of his last seven tournaments, including five straight. Ohe has recorded scores under par in back-to-back tournaments for the first time in the Maroon and Gold.
Wu and sophomore Jack Crousore competed in the Robert Kepler Invitational last year (Apr. 18-19, 2025). The pair tied for 33rd among all golfers with a score of 15-over-par (228).

The Field:
Sixteen teams will compete over the next two days. Minnesota is one of five Big Ten Conference programs participating, including Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Other teams include Abilene Christian, Butler, Cal Poly, Kansas City, Kent State, Loyola Marymount, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, and St. Thomas.
Gophers' Lineup:
Wu, Crousore, freshman Joe Honsa, Ohe, and senior Cormac Sharpe will participate in team competition during the 54-hole event.
The Course:
The 54th Annual Robert Kepler Invitational will take place at the Columbus Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. This course has held various events since its opening in 1907, including the 1964 PGA Championship and the Ohio State Amateur. The course scores at a par-72 while covering 7,077 yards.
