Men’s Golf to Host 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota men's golf team returns home to host the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. The two-day tournament runs Sept. 20-21 and features a 15-team field from across the country.
Competition begins Sunday with 36 holes and an 8:15 a.m. CT shotgun start. The tournament concludes Monday with the final 18 holes. Live scoring will be available throughout the event through Scoreboard by Clippd.
The Golden Gophers enter their home tournament after opening the 2026-27 season at the Bearcat Invitational and will look to take advantage of familiar surroundings at one of the nation's premier golf venues.
Lineup
Minnesota's lineup for the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational consists of juniors Chun-Ta Wu and Jack Crousore, sophomores Joe Honsa and Torger Ohe and freshman Martin Shone.
Competing as individuals for the Gophers will be Finlay Galloway, Landon Houska, Ryan Stendahl and Kyler Schwamb.
The Field
The Gophers will compete against Cincinnati, Georgia, Grand Canyon, Iowa State, Kent State, Little Rock, Marquette, Miami (Ohio), Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, Rutgers, St. Thomas and West Virginia.
The Course
The Gopher Invitational has called Windsong Farm Golf Club home for the past 12 years. Consistently ranked among the top golf courses in Minnesota, Windsong has also earned national recognition as one of the premier modern golf courses in the country.
Originally designed by John Fought and Minnesota native and former Gopher, Tom Lehman, the course opened in 2003 and features a par-71 layout measuring 7,380 yards. Known for its breathtaking views, immaculate conditions and challenging design, Windsong Farm provides one of the top championship golf experiences in the Midwest.
