Ohe Propels Gophers into First Place After 36 Holes in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Freshman Torger Ohe's outstanding performance in the Robert Kepler Invitational helped move Minnesota men's golf into first place after the first two rounds Saturday.
The Golden Gophers finished with a team score of 18-under-par. They collected a first-round score of 8-under-par (280) and a second-round score of 10-under-par (278).
Four players recorded scores under par and sit inside the top 20 of the leaderboard heading into Sunday's final round.
Notable Performances:
Ohe led the Maroon and Gold with a score of 7-under-par, tying for first place among the field. He tallied eight of his team-best 13 birdies during the second round, helping him match his career-low, 18-hole score of 6-under-par (66). Ohe has finished under par in seven of his last nine rounds, going back to the Colleton River Collegiate (Mar. 1-2).
Sophomore Jack Crousore shot 4-under-par, including a score of 2-under-par (70) in the first and second rounds. He picked up nine birdies, helping him tie for fifth among all golfers.
Senior Cormac Sharpe tied for eighth place with an overall score of 3-under-par, highlighted by a season-best, round score of 6-under-par (66) in the first round. He gathered seven of his 10 birdies during the first 18 holes.
Freshman Joe Honsa carded a second-round score of 2-under-par (70) with four birdies, ending his day with a final score of 1-under-par. He sits in a tie for 19th place.
Senior Chun-Ta Wu penciled a score of 2-over-par with six birdies, shooting even (72) in the second round. His eagle on the eighth hole during the second round was his sixth of the season.
