Maroon and Gold Set to Compete in Windon Memorial Classic

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The University of Minnesota men's golf team is set to participate in the Windon Memorial Classic in Lake Forest, Ill., Sept. 29-30. The first round will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, followed immediately by the second round. The final round will open at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Sophomore Jack Crousore looks to build off his strong performance last week in Madison with a score of 3-under-par, tallying 10 birdies.

The Field:
Sixteen teams will compete over the next two days. Minnesota is a part of the seven B1G teams participating, including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, and Purdue. Other teams include ETSU, Kansas, Marquette, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Oral Roberts, SMU, USF, and UC Davis.
Gophers' Lineup:
Crousore, along with sophomore Chun-Ta Wu, senior Jack Wetzel, freshman Torger Ohe, and senior Cormac Sharpe, will participate in team competition over 54 holes of golf.
The Course:
The Windon Memorial Classic will be held at the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Ill. Dating back to its opening in 1924, this historic course has held numerous tournaments, including the 1956 U.S. Amateur Championship and the 13th International PGA Cup in 1986. This course scores at a par-72 while measuring 7,202 yards of play.
