OVERVIEW: Graduate transfer from Notre Dame • enrolled at Minnesota in June 2022 with three seasons of playing eligibility remaining, which were used in 2022, 2023 and 2024 • started 39 straight games on the offensive line at Minnesota. 

2024: Started all 13 games • started seven at right tackle (Rhode Island, Nevada, Iowa, Michigan, USC, UCLA and Maryland), five at right guard (North Carolina, Illinois, Rutgers, Penn State and Wisconsin) and one at left tackle (Virginia Tech) • blocked for an offense that averaged 26.15 points per game and one that rushed for 115.6 yards per game and threw for 222.15 yards per game • protected for an offense that rushed for 18 touchdowns on the season and threw for 20. 2022: Started all 13 games at right tackle • blocked for an offense that rushed for 2,698 yards and 33 touchdowns and one that passed for 2,369 yards and 12 touchdowns. Game-by-Game: Made his Minnesota debut and blocked for an offense that gained 485 total yards and rushed for five touchdowns against New Mexico State • helped pave the way for Minnesota to gain 679 yards of offense (third most in school history) against Western Illinois • blocked for an offense against Colorado that gained 500 yards and scored seven touchdowns • protected for an offense that totaled 508 yards of offense (240 rushing, 268 passing), 32 first downs and 34 points and did not allow a sack at Michigan State • started against Purdue, at Illinois and at Penn State • protected for an offense that controlled the ball for 41:02 and racked up 375 yards of offense against Rutgers • blocked for an offense that totaled 300 yards of offense at Nebraska • paved the way for Minnesota to rush for 302 yards and four touchdowns against Northwestern • cleared the way for Minnesota to rush for 312 yards against Iowa • blocked for an offense that gained 416 total yards (319 passing) at Wisconsin • started against Syracuse.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Edina High School in Edina, Minn. • was named 2018 Minnesota Associated Press First Team All-State and Star Tribune First Team All-Metro • Rivals ranked him as the No. 54 overall player nationally, No. 7 offensive tackle nationally and No. 1 player in Minnesota • coached by Derrin Lamker • 

PERSONAL: Son of Jay and Kari Carroll • has six siblings (Collin, Paddy, Kevin, Preston, Lily and Bella) • father, Jay, played college football at Minnesota from 1980-83 • he was a three-time letterwinner at tight end and earned all-Big Ten recognition as a sophomore and senior • Jay was also named Minnesota’s offensive MVP in 1983 • he was selected in the 7th round of the 1984 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and also played for the Minnesota Vikings • brother, Paddy, was a collegiate baseball pitcher at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from 2009-2012 • brother, Collin, played college football at Virginia Tech from 2007-11, where he started a program-record 55 consecutive games and was a four-time letterwinner • brother, Kevin, played college football at the University of Northern Iowa, where he was an offensive lineman.
