Rimington Trophy Committee Lauds Beers

According to PFF, Beers ranked third among Big Ten centers in 2025 with a pass blocking grade of 86.1
University of Minnesota center Ashton Beers was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List today. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I College Football.
The Rimington Trophy committee worked with Pro Football Focus (PFF) to help determine the 40 centers on the list. PFF grades every player on every play of every game on how well they execute their given assignment.
According to PFF, Beers ranked third among Big Ten centers in 2025 with a pass blocking grade of 86.1.
The Slinger, Wis., native started all 13 games last season at center, but he has also played guard in his career. In 2024, he played in all 13 games and started six games at right guard and three games at left guard. He saw action in 13 games on special teams in 20233 after redshirting in 2022.
Beers is a mechanical engineering major and was named a CSC Academic All-American in 2024. He was also named CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-Big Ten from 2023-25.
Beers and the rest of the Gophers kick off the 2026 season on Thursday, Sept. 3 against Eastern Illinois at Huntington Bank Stadium.
