ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior Sydney Schwartz was dominant on Saturday, striking out eight Northwestern hitters over seven innings of work to help lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers past the Wildcats 3-2.

In addition to her eight strikeouts, Schwartz (11-16) went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on four hits and walking one for Minnesota (16-34, 7-16).

Offensively, the Golden Gophers were led by senior Maggie Werner, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and a walk. Freshman Kylinn Stangl put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
