Minnesota Finishes in 11th Sunday

GLENDALE, Calif. – The University of Minnesota women's golf team closed out play at the Big Ten Conference Championships in 11th place Sunday. The Maroon and Gold carded a team score of 307-291-298—896 (+56) at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif.

Isabella McCauley led the Golden Gophers with her fourth top-five finish this season to close out her final Big Ten Championship appearance. The senior fired a 1-under-par score of 69 in the third round, one of four golfers to remain under-par in the last 18 holes. She totaled a 213 (+3) to earn a fifth place finish among her competitors.

"This was a great way to cap off her B1G career," said head coach Matt Higgins. "She grinded her way back each day, and to shoot an under-par round today in those conditions was very special."

No. 2-ranked USC claimed a first-place team finish with a final score of 276-279-288—843 (+4). The Trojans held a 12-shot margin over second place Ohio State to secure the Big Ten Conference Championship title.

USC golfer Jasmine Koo led the individual field with a third-round score of 68 (-2). She is one of three golfers who remained under-par after the 54-hole competition.

Notable:
Luisamariana Mesones shot a 72 (+2) to round out the final day of competition. The junior closed out the three-day tournament by moving up twelve spots on the leaderboard, ending the tournament in 55th place.

Senior Olivia Deakins carded a final tournament score of 77-72-77—226 (+16). She closed out the third round in 55th place alongside her teammate.

Senior Madison Le placed 82nd overall with a third round score of 80 (+10). She finished the tournament 29-over-par, with two birdies in the final round.

Reese McCauley finished play in 85th place after shooting an 84 (+14) in the third round. The sophomore ended the event with a total score of 244 (+32).
