Gophers End Day Two of Big Ten Championships

GLENDALE, Calif. – The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished round two of the Big Ten Conference Championships tied for 12th place Saturday. The Maroon and Gold moved up three spots on the leaderboard, carding a team score of 291 (+38) during the second round at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif.
Senior Isabella McCauley led the Golden Gophers with an even-par round of 70 during round two of competition. The Inver Grove Heights, Minn., native closed out the day in 21st place.
No. 2-ranked USC continues to sit in first place with a team score of 279 (-4) Saturday. USC golfer Bailey Shoemaker leads the individual field after recording a 5-under-par 65 in the second round.
Notable:
Senior Olivia Deakins posted a 2-over-par score of 72 after 18 holes. She tallied 12 pars in the second round and sits in 43rd place.
Luisamariana Mesones holds 67th place after totaling a 74 (+4) in round two. The junior completed the second round with four birdies.
Sophomore Reese McCauley closed out the second day of competition in 82nd place. She posted a score of 75 (+5) in Saturday's 18 holes.
Senior Madison Le finished the day with a 13-over-par 83. She met par eight times to round out the competition in 85th place.
Looking Ahead:
The third and final round of the Big Ten Conference Championships will take place on April 26. It is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. CT with live results available via Scoreboard by Clippd.
There will be three hours of live coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network. Coverage will be anchored by Rick Pizzo, Eric Ciotti, and Minnesota alum Emma Carpenter.
