Gophers Out-Hit Badgers, Fall 7-1

MINNEAPOLIS Despite picking up seven hits in the ballgame and out-hitting Wisconsin, Minnesota was unable to push across more runs, as the Golden Gophers lost to the Badgers 7-1 Saturday.

Sydney Schwartz (10-15) started and took the loss in the circle for Minnesota (15-32, 6-14).

In the batter's box, the Golden Gophers were led by Jae Cosgriff, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. Brooklyn Jones put together a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3. Scarlett Kuhn also chipped in for Minnesota, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 7-0, the Golden Gophers first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Minnesota got on the board thanks to Cosgriff's RBI double with one out. The Golden Gophers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.

» Minnesota's highest scoring inning was the fifth, when it pushed one run across.
