GLENDALE, Calif. – The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished round one of the Big Ten Conference Championships in 15th place Friday. The Golden Gophers carded a team score of 307 (+27) in the first round at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif.
Senior Isabella McCauley leads the Maroon and Gold with a round one score of 74 (+4) to close out 18 holes in 42nd place. She met par twelve times through the first round.
No. 2-ranked USC sits in first place with a team score of 276 (-4). Illinois golfer Anna Ritter leads the individual field after carding a 5-under-par 65 in round one.
Notable:
Senior Madison Le carded a 76 (+6) after day one. She rounded out play in 55th place.
Senior Olivia Deakins sits in 64th place after posting a 77 (+7) in round one. She led the Golden Gophers with two birdies through 18 holes.
Luisamariana Mesones closed out play in 77th place after the first round. The junior registered an 80 (+10) after securing a birdie on the fourth hole in Glendale, Calif.
Sophomore Reese McCauley finished with a 13-over-par 83 in the first round. She rounded out play in 90th place.
