Big Ten Awards 97 Gophers with Academic Honors

MINNEAPOLIS – The Big Ten has awarded 97 University of Minnesota student-athletes with Academic All-Big Ten honors for the 2025-26 winter season, the conference announced Wednesday.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Seven programs at Minnesota were up for Academic All-Big Ten selections for the winter season with women's swimming and diving leading the way with 24 honorees. Eighteen student-athletes were recognized from the wrestling program, along with 17 from men's swimming and diving, 13 from men's hockey and gymnastics, nine from women's basketball and three representing men's basketball.
In addition, five student-athletes recorded a GPA of 4.0: Sarah Moraw (gymnastics), Joe Polyak (men's swimming and diving), Drew Roberts (wrestling), Jade Roghair (women's swimming and diving) and Megan Steensland (gymnastics).
Wednesday's announcement brings the total of Academic All-Big Ten honorees to 199 combined student-athletes so far in the 2025-26 school year after 102 were recognized in the fall.
