Gophers Return to Action at Colleton River Collegiate

BLUFFTON, S.C. - The University of Minnesota men's golf team continues its spring season at the Colleton River Collegiate Mar. 1-2, hosted by Michigan State. The first round will commence at 7:00 a.m. CT Sunday, followed immediately by the second round. The final round will begin around 6:45 a.m. CT on Monday morning.
Freshman Joe Honsa looks to build off his career-best performance in the Maroon and Gold at the Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 9-11), collecting a score of 5-under-par with 11 birdies throughout the three-day tournament. He picked up his third eagle of the season during the first round.

The Field:
Fifteen teams will compete over the next two days. Minnesota is one of the seven Big Ten Conference teams participating, including Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, and Rutgers. Other teams include Cincinnati, East Tennessee State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Memphis, Missouri, and UT-Chattanooga.
Gophers' Lineup:
Sophomores Chun-Ta Wu and Jack Crousore, Honsa, and seniors Jack Wetzel and Cormac Sharpe will compete in team competition over the next two days. Freshman Torger Ohe will participate as an individual.

The Colleton River Collegiate will take place at the Colleton River Club in Bluffton, S.C., on the Dye Course. Various events have been held at this course, including the 2015 US Junior Amateur, South Carolina Amateur, and US Open Qualifiers. The course scores at a par-72 while covering 7,403 yards.
