FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1.
Meeting for the first time in Minneapolis since 1977, RV/RV Minnesota (5-3, 3-2 B1G) hosts No. 5/5 UCLA (8-0, 5-0), one of three undefeated teams left in the FBS. Saturday's kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on FOX and the Gopher Radio Network.

2. For the second week in a row and a program-record third time overall this season, Minnesota fifth-year kicker Luke Drzewiecki has been named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. After making the walk-off winner two weeks ago to beat Iowa and help the Gophers claim Floyd of Rosedale, he continued his stellar play at Indiana when he went 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 51-yarder and a 60-yarder. His 60-yard make was the second longest in school history and the longest ever made outdoors by a Gopher. Drzewiecki has made 26 straight field goals dating to last season, the longest active streak in the nation (next closest is 22). He's made all 15 of his attempts this year, which leads the country for most makes without a miss. His streak of 15 straight makes for the Gophers is the second longest in program history and one off the school record of 16 set by Dan Nystrom in 2002. More on Drzewiecki can be found on Page 12 of the Notes.

3. Saturday's contest concludes a stretch that will see Minnesota play three ranked teams in a row for the first time since 2015. Two weeks ago was a 13-10 win over then-No. 15/14 Iowa, while the Gophers lost in overtime at then-No. 4/4 Indiana, 23-16, last week. Now with UCLA ranked No. 5/5, it's the first time Minnesota has played three straight games against AP top-15 teams since that 2015 stretch when it faced No. 15 Michigan, No. 1 Ohio State and No. 8 Iowa. The Gophers are playing consecutive games against top-5 foes for just the sixth time in program history and first since September of 1980 when they met No. 2 Ohio State and No. 5 USC. According to the NCAA, the Gophers are tied for the 10th toughest remaining schedule in the country as their four opponents have a combined win percentage of .719 (23-9). More info can be found on Page 5 of the notes.

4. Minnesota has won 11 of its last 12 and 13 of its last 15 at Huntington Bank Stadium. The Gophers saw an eight-game home win streak end on Sept. 12 with a 38-13 loss to Mississippi State. It was the team's longest such streak since winning nine straight from Nov. 9, 1946 to Oct. 16, 1948. Despite the loss to the Bulldogs, the Gophers have still won seven straight Big Ten games at home. That's tied for the fourth longest such win streak in team history and is the longest since winning eight in a row from Nov. of 1964 to Oct. of 1966. More can be found on Page 4 of the Notes.

5. The 2026 campaign is the 10th for P.J. Fleck at Minnesota. He is tied for the fourth-longest tenured coach in program history, the second-longest active tenured coach in the Big Ten and the 10th-longest tenured head coach overall in the FBS. Fleck's Minnesota record stands at 71-47, putting him fourth in program history in overall wins. He's also fourth in Big Ten wins (42) and fifth in games coached (118). Fleck's overall win percentage of .602 is third best among Minnesota coaches with more than 40 games under their helm behind only Henry L. Williams (.786, 1900-21) and Bernie Bierman (.716, 1932-41, '45-50). In his 14th season overall as a college head coach, Fleck is 101-69 (.594), making him one of 19 active head coaches to reach 100 wins at the FBS level.
