Gophers Close Out Windon Memorial Classic

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Minnesota men's golf team finished the final round of the Windon Memorial Classic Tuesday at the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Ill. 

The Gophers finished in 13th place with a score of 6-over par, including a final round score of 5-over-par (293). Illinois placed first in the team competition with a score of 36-under-par. Individually, Mesa Falleur of New Mexico collected the best score among all players with a mark of 12-under-par (204). 

Notable Performances: 
Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu led the Gophers with a score of 2-under-par (214). He finished even (72) in the final round with five birdies, adding to his total of 10 over 54 holes of golf. 

Sophomore Jack Crousore carded a score of 2-over-par (218) in the tournament. He tallied nine birdies during the two days of action. 

Freshman Torger Ohe shot even (72) in the final round. His nine birdies helped him post a score of 4-over-par (220) throughout the tournament.

Senior Jack Wetzel registered a score of 7-over-par (223), while going 2-over-par (74) in the third round. He picked up another eagle, his second of the tournament, on the sixth hole Tuesday. 

Up Next: 
The Gophers will travel to Hartford, Wis., to compete in the Marquette Intercollegiate on Oct. 5-7. The three-day tournament will take place at Erin Hills Golf Course.
