Gophers win all seven races Friday

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Minnesota rowing closed a perfect day of competition Friday to begin the 2025 Big 12/Big Ten Double Duel from Kansas City, Kan., winning all seven races in which it competed.

Racing at Wyandotte County Lake, the Golden Gophers faced San Diego in the first five matchups and each boat for the Maroon and Gold finished ahead of the competition by an average of 19 seconds. The widest margin, nearly 30 seconds, came in the opening race as the Second Varsity Four dominated from start to finish against the Toreros.

Minnesota continued its winning ways in the sixth race where the Second Novice Eight edged Kansas by less than two seconds before the Third Varsity Four crew capped the regatta's first day by cruising past B1G-rival Iowa.
