Gophers' Galdos Earns Top Twenty Finish At Puerto Rico Classic

MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Eduardo Galdos led the University of Minnesota men's golf team in the final round of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, P.R. on Wednesday.
The Maroon and Gold concluded the tournament in 10th place with a score of 10-under par (286-288-280–854). Big Ten rival and host-Purdue took home the top team spot with a score of 39-under par (274-274-277–825). The Boilermakers' own Sam Easterbrook was the top individual with a score of 15-under par.
Notable:
Galdos finished the tournament tied for the lead in par-5 scoring, with a score of 8-under par on those holes for the 54-hole tournament, including an eagle on hole 5 in the final round. His impressive play placed him at 6-under par (71-68-71–210) for the tournament. The Gopher senior concluded his tournament tied for 16th, his third top twenty finish of the season.
Freshman Chun-Ta Wu carded four birdies in his final round. The Australian native finished the tournament with a score of 3-under par, tied for 31st (70-74-69–213).
Senior Bennett Swavley concluded the tournament carding four birdies in his final round. The Gopher senior finished the tournament tied for 40th, with a score of 1-under par (71-72-72–215). Junior Cormac Sharpe finished one shot back of Swavely, tied for 50th with a score of even-par (74-74-68–216).
Freshman Jack Crousore finished the tournament with a score of 12-over par (76 75 77 228) tied for 83rd.
