Minnesota Finishes Tied 15th at Season-Opening Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Minnesota men's golf team closed out the Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday tied for 15th place at Coldstream Country Club.
The Golden Gophers posted a 289 (+5) in the third and final round to finish the 54-hole event at 865 (+13).
Liberty captured the team title at 837 (-15), finishing ahead of TCU. Liberty's Michael Lugiano earned a share of medalist honors at 9-under-par alongside Cameron Kuchar of TCU.
Jack Crousore led Minnesota for the tournament, finishing tied for 28th at 1-over-par. The junior carded a 1-over-par 72 Tuesday after rounds of 72 and 70 Monday, while recording an eagle and six birdies across the three-day event.
Notable Performances
Chun-Ta Wu climbed 22 spots during the final round after firing the Maroon and Gold's tournament-best round with a 69 (-2) on Tuesday, thanks to birdies on three of his final five holes. The junior finished tied for 36th overall at 2-over-par and was one of only a handful of players in the field to break 70 during the final round.
Torger Ohe finished tied for 48th at 3-over-par following a 73 (+2) in the third round. The sophomore posted a pair of birdies during the final round.
Joe Honsa concluded the tournament at 7-over par, placing in a tie for 67th. The sophomore carded a 75 (+4) Tuesday with three birdies, recording a total of eight birdies during the event.
Closing his collegiate debut, Finlay Galloway finished at 14-over-par behind a final round of 75 (+4). The freshman gained valuable experience in his first tournament representing the Maroon and Gold.
