Minnesota finished second with a score of 196.975
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The No. 13 Minnesota gymnastics team placed second at the NCAA Regional Semifinals on Friday night with a score of 196.975. The Gophers, along with No. 4 UCLA, will advance to Sunday's Regional Finals against No. 5 Alabama and No. 12 Utah.
"We're elated to keep our season going tonight," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "It was such a roller coaster of emotions - that was not the start we were looking for on floor. We really regrouped and kept building after that. Vault was solid, bars was great and beam was fantastic so they just kept pushing. To finish the way we did and coming from behind was special."
With its second place finish, the Gophers clinched their fifth Regional Finals (Sweet 16) appearance in the last six seasons. Heading into Sunday's meet, the Gophers will be trying to put together their best performance of the season in hopes of advancing to nationals for the first time since 2022.
No. 4 UCLA (197.450) placed first in the meet while No. 19 Iowa (196.750) took third and Washington (195.850) placed fourth.
