Maroon and Gold Place Sixth in Regular Season Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Minnesota men's golf team finished its regular season with a sixth-place result at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational Sunday.
The Golden Gophers closed with a team score of 43-over-par (895). The Maroon and Gold concluded the second round with a score of 7-over-par, finishing Sunday with a final-round score of 15-over-par.
Kansas finished first in the team competition with a score of 20-over-par. Individually, Freddie Turnell of Illinois recorded the best mark of 1-under-par among the field.
Notable Performances:
Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu registered a third-round score of 2-over-par (73), earning a team-best, 54-hole score of 5-over-par (218). He tallied seven birdies during the two-day event, helping him tie for 12th place among all golfers. Wu earned his fourth top-20 finish on the season.
Freshman Joe Honsa concluded the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational with a score of 14-over-par (227) with seven birdies, tying for 37th overall. He recorded a third-round score of 6-over-par (77).
Freshman Torger Ohe and senior Cormac Sharpe carded matching scores of 15-over-par (228) to tie for 42nd place. Ohe wrapped the two-day tournament with a final-round score of 6-over-par (77), while Sharpe finished with a third-round score of 5-over-par (76). The pair each gathered two birdies throughout the weekend.
Sophomore Jack Crousore shot 2-over-par (73) during Sunday's final round, finishing with an overall score of 17-over-par (230). He collected two birdies throughout 54 holes of golf.
Senior Jack Wetzel penciled a score of 25-over-par (238) as an individual, picking up three birdies.

The Gophers will travel to North Plains, Ore., for the Big Ten Championships on May 1-3. The three-day event will take place at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
