Gophers Drop Series Finale at No. 19 Washington, 6-1

SEATTLE, WA – The Minnesota Golden Gophers had a tough showing on Sunday, falling to the No. 19 Washington Huskies by a final score of 6-1.
Natalie Susa (0-7) got the ball to start for Minnesota (14-27) and took the loss. Macy Richardson was a bright spot for the Golden Gophers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 4.1 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on seven hits, with two walks and four strikeouts.
In the batter's box, the Golden Gophers were paced by Tara Wolocko, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. Scarlett Kuhn furnished a standout day at the plate as well, going 2-for-3. Sydney Schwartz also helped out for Minnesota, going 1-for-3 with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Tinley Easton came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minnesota and give the Gophers a 1-0 lead. The Golden Gophers were unable to hold the advantage, as Washington scored six times over the remaining six innings to secure the 6-1 win.
