SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Minnesota Golden Gophers struggled in game one on Saturday, falling to the Miami (OH) RedHawks by a final score of 6-1.
Macy Richardson (0-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Minnesota (0-3). The right-hander went six innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits, allowing one walk and striking out four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers were trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning when they first put runs on the board. Maggie Werner came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minnesota and get them on the board. Miami (OH) then scored five times over the remaining three innings to break the tie and grab the 6-1 win.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Minnesota Golden Gophers bounced back in game two, cruising to an 8-0 win over Loyola Chicago.
Minnesota collected 12 hits and had five players record multi-hit performances. Sydney Schwartz tossed five shutout innings to earn the win in the circle.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After three scoreless innings, Minnesota's offense broke through with five runs in the fourth and added three more in the fifth to secure the run-rule victory. Jessa Snippes, Brooklyn Jones, and Lucy Hooper each drove in two runs, and the Gophers played error-free defense in the field.
