Isaac Morton got the win for Minnesota, going five innings and striking out four. Brandon Jaenke also pitched well, going two shutout innings without allowing a hit and striking out three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Gophers first put runs on the board in the first inning with Jack Spanier coming across the plate on a sacrifice fly from Neels.
The score stayed at 1-1 until the third inning, when the Gophers put runs on the scoreboard once again. Neels yet again got things going with an RBI double out to right field, and was followed up by a bases loaded walk to make it 3-1. Allen then laced his first home run of the season with a grand slam over the center field wall, giving the Gophers a 7-1 advantage heading into the fourth.
Kansas narrowed Minnesota's lead to 7-3 with an RBI double and RBI sacrifice fly before the Gophers stretched the advantage to 8-3 in the sixth inning on a solo home run from Richter.
Minnesota held the Jayhawks scoreless before their offense got things moving again. An RBI single from Davis Hamilton added one for the Gophers before Hamilton stole home to move the scoreline to 10-3.
