Four Gophers Collect Multiple Hits in 11-10 Loss to Maryland

MINNEAPOLIS- Four Minnesota players notched multiple hits, but the Golden Gophers fell to the Maryland Terrapins 11-10 Sunday.
Freshman Luke Ryerse (0-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Minnesota (22-27, ).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers were trailing 2-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Junior Easton Richter came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minnesota and get them on the board.
The Terrapins expanded their lead to 9-1 before the Golden Gophers offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the sixth. Minnesota hit three home runs in the inning on the way to pushing six runs across. which tightened the Terrapins lead to 9-7.
Maryland expanded their lead to 11-7 before the Minnesota offense got going, reducing that lead to 11-10 in the eighth. The Golden Gophers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
