Mya Hooten earned a 9.900 in her final floor routine

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The No. 10 Minnesota gymnastics team placed fourth at the NCAA Regional Finals on Saturday evening with a score of 196.825. The Gophers finish their 2025 season with a 17-7 (8-1 B1G) record.

"I am really proud of the team," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "Utah had a wonderful, energized fan base here tonight and we hadn't seen anything like that this season. It was a lot for our athletes to absorb, but they did a great job. We were really solid all the way through. It wasn't the night we were hoping for but we were steady from start to finish. Beam was a highlight for sure.

No. 4 Utah (197.825) placed first in the meet while No. 5 UCLA (197.625) took second and Denver (197.350) placed third. Utah and UCLA advanced to nationals, joining Michigan State and LSU as four of the eight teams that advanced this evening.

The Gophers earned team scores of 49.125 on vault, 49.175 on bars, 49.350 on beam and 49.175 on floor.

The event winners on vault were UCLA's Mika Webster-Longin and Utah's Zoe Johnson with 9.950 tallies. Utah's Grace McCallum (10.000) won on bars while McCallum (9.950) and Denver's Bella Mabanta (9.950) tied on beam. McCallum posted a 9.975 to win the floor title as well. McCallum also took home the all-around title with a score of 39.725.

Minnesota had individual highs of 9.875 on vault from Mya Hooten, 9.875 on bars from Jordyn Lyden, 9.900s on beam from Lyden and Lauren Pearl and 9.900 on floor from Hooten. Hooten qualified as an individual on floor with her 9.925 score on Thursday. It will be her fourth time in five years competing at the NCAA Championships, including her second straight as an individual.

"I'm just so glad she gets to go out and perform one more time," Hansen said. "She is just electric on floor, and that's just where she should be. Mya will be at the national championships performing that routine. I'm so excited for her that she'll have that one last chance."
