Minnesota Shut Out by Oregon

MINNEAPOLIS, MN --Junior Lyndsey Grein and Senior Staci Chambers combined to toss a shutout on Friday as the Oregon Ducks (36-4, 10-1 B1G) blanked the Minnesota Golden Gophers (14-24, 3-11 B1G) 13-0.
Freshman Natalie Susa (1-5) got the ball to start for Minnesota and took the loss.
At the plate, the Gophers were paced by Freshman Jae Cosgriff, who went 1-for-2 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Minnesota did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Gophers went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the second, when Junior Breezy Burnett made it into scoring position with one out.
GAME NOTES
» Minnesota pitchers faced 32 Oregon hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and four fly balls while striking out four.
» Cosgriff led the Gophers at the plate, going 1-for-2.
» Oregon was led offensively by senior Dezianna Patmon, who went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.
» Grein led the Ducks pitching staff, throwing four shutout innings.
UP NEXT
The 'U' will be back in action tomorrow. They will take on Oregon for game two of this B1G weekend series. First pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
