Maroon and Gold Conclude Day One of Puerto Rico Classic

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's golf team concluded its first 18 holes of the Puerto Rico Classic Monday in Rio Grande, P.R. 

The Gophers concluded the day in 11th place with a score of 2-under par (286). No. 1 Ole Miss leads the team competition with a score of 16-under par. 

Notable: 
Freshman Chun-Ta Wu leads the Maroon and Gold through its first round of competition. Wu nabbed three birdies in his first 18 holes, finishing the day tied for 21st at 2-under par (72). 

Seniors Bennett Swavley and Eduardo Galdos concluded the first round just one shot behind Wu. The Gopher seniors capped off their first round tied for 29th with a score of 1-under par (71). 

Junior Cormac Sharpe finished the first round tied for 58th with a score of 2-over par (74), while freshman Jack Crousore finished tied for 76th with a score of 4-over par (76).
