Gophers Fall in Final Game vs Missouri State

Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Minnesota fell 12-3 Sunday in the final game of a three-game series versus Missouri State at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Toby Anderson started on the mound for the Gophers. He threw 3.2 innings where he allowed seven hits, eight earned runs and picked up the loss.
Reggie Meyer took over for Anderson and went on to pitch 2.1 innings. The sophomore allowed two hits and two earned runs. Next out of the bullpen was Jeff Fasching who went 2.0 innings. He allowed two hits, one earned run and struck out two batters.
Cody Cambpell finished on the mound for Minnesota. The senior went 1.0 inning where he allowed one hit and one earned run.
The Maroon and Gold scored three runs on eight hits. Eduardo Estrada, Jr. drove in the first Gopher run in the bottom of the seventh inning when he singled through the right side to score Jordan Kozicky.
Kozicky reached base with a single down the left field line and then advanced to second base on a Troy Traxler single to left field.
The second and third runs came in the bottom of the ninth inning. Traxler reached base with a one-out walk then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Cole McDevitt followed that with a single through the left side which advanced Traxler to third base. An error by the Missouri State third baseman allowed Traxler and McDevitt to score.
Minnesota flies back out to California as they take on California Tuesday at 9 p.m. central time. They will then travel to Sacramento, Cal. to play Sacramento State for a three-game series March 16-18.
