2025 Outdoor Track & Field • Junior Season: Participated in eight outdoor meets during the season and made his debut in uniform on March 8, at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta... Ended the 2025 season as the lead leg of the school-record 4x100m relay team (38.16)... Helped the 'U' to its highest team finish at the NCAA Championships (7th - 25 points) since 1948... Led off Minnesota's 4x100m relay all season, and helped qualify to its first 4x100m relay NCAA final in program history by running the sixth-fastest time in collegiate history in the NCAA Outdoor Championships semifinal (38.16)... The 38.16 4x100m relay time goes down as the fastest by a Big Ten school in conference history... Led Minnesota's 38.88 in the NCAA Outdoor Championships 4x100m relay final to finish seventh overall... Minnesota's 4x100m relay time of 38.54 broke the Big Ten Outdoor Championships meet record time that was previously held by the Gophers in 2023 in Bloomington, Ind.... In his debut at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta helped win the 4x100m relay (38.78) and was fourth in the 100m (10.37 +1.6 m/s)... Ran a lifetime-best 100m time of 10.31 (+0.8 m/s) at the Florida Relays and ranks No. 5 all-time at Minnesota in the event... Ran a personal best of 20.84 (+0.5 m/s) in the 200m at the Bryan Clay Invitational to move to No. 6 all-time at Minnesota in the event... Finished 12th in the 100m and 13th in the 200m at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
PRIOR TO MINNESOTA
After a pair of seasons at Iowa Central Community College, Zion Campbell will join the Maroon and Gold sprint group. A native of the Bahamas, Campbell is a Pan American U20 champion in the 4x100m relay and brings in quality times in the 100m and 200m. Campbell was outstanding at the NJCAA Region 11 Indoor Championships in 2024, winning the event with a personal best time of 6.60. The soon-to-be Gopher then went on to finish seventh overall at the NJCAA Indoor Championships in the 60m with a time of 6.78.
