2024 Outdoor Track & Field • Senior Season: Completed a redshirt season, competed in two meets... Won the 110m hurdles at the Gary Wilson Invitational in a time of 13.88 (+1.0 m/s)... Won the Bethel Invite 110m hurdles in a time of 14.01 (+1.0 m/s).
2023 Outdoor Track & Field • Junior Season: Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in his first season with the Gophers in the 110m hurdles, making him the first Gopher to qualify for NCAAs in the 110m hurdles in 62 years (1960)... Was named an Honorable Mention All-American after a DNF finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships... Finished fourth at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the 110m hurdles in a time of 13.69... Broke Minnesota's 26-year-old school record in the 110m hurdles with a current record of 13.66 (+1.7 m/s) that he set at the NCAA West Regional to qualify for NCAAs... Broke the school record in the 110m hurdles five different times during the outdoor season... Finished 14th at the 2023 Jamaican National Championships in the 110m hurdles in a time of 13.97... Named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week on March 22 after his first two meets with the Maroon and Gold... PRIOR TO MINNESOTA:
A NJCAA All-American, Buchanan joins the Gophers as one of the top JUCO high hurdles in the nation. He's a two-time finalist in the 110m hurdles at the NJCAA outdoor championships and was a sixth-place finisher at the 2022 indoor meet in the 60m hurdles. He also was one of the top long jumpers, finishing third both indoors and outdoors last season while finishing as the runner-up indoors in 2021.
