2010-11 • Sophomore Season: WCHA All-Academic Team honoree • letterwinner • played in all 38 games • ranked eighth on the team in scoring with 19 points (14g-5a) • ranked fifth on the team with 14 goals • had four multi-point games, including three multi-goal games • opened her sophomore season with a goal against Clarkson (10/1) • scored three goals in the series sweep over St. Cloud State (10/22-10/23), including two power-play goals • had a career-high three points in the 6-2 win over Minnesota State (11/20) • had two assists in sweep over Harvard (11/26 and 11/28) • scored two goals in the Gophers' 8-1 win at Ohio State (1/22) • scored her first collegiate short-handed goal in the 3-1 loss to Wisconsin (1/29) • scored two goals in the series sweep over St. Cloud State (2/4-2/5).
2009-10 • Freshman Season: Recorded 14 points (4g-10a) in 40 games played • centered a line with Laura May and Chelsey Jones the entire season • had a .523 winning percentage in the faceoff circle • scored three unassisted goals • had a +3 rating on the season • recorded her first collegiate point in 4-1 win over Syracuse (10/4) and scored her first collegiate goal in the 6-5 win over Ohio State (10/9) • had her first career multiple-point game in 7-0 win over St. Cloud State (10/24) • assisted Kelly Seeler's goal in 4-0 win over Clarkson (11/27) • scored a goal in the 6-0 win against Ohio State (1/9) • had a goal and an assist in the 4-2 win over Minnesota State (1/29) • set up Chelsey Jones' game-winning goal over Wisconsin (2/20) to help win the WCHA regular season championship • had a season-high three-point game (1g-2a) against Minnesota State (2/26) in the first round of the WCHA playoffs • had an on during Laura May's game-winning goal in the 5-4 double overtime win over Ohio State in the WCHA semifinal game (3/6).
The Kortum File: A 2009 graduate of Hopkins High School • 2009 Ms. Hockey award recipient • led the Royals in scoring as a senior with 43 goals and 28 assists for 71 points • set the Hopkins school record for points • helped Hopkins to a runner-up finish at its first state tournament appearance since 1997 • named to the all-tournament team after finishing tied for first among all scorers with four goals and three assists • had three- and four-point games in the tournament and scored Hopkins' final goal in the 5-3 loss to Stillwater in the championship game • named the 2009 Minnesota Female Hockey Player of the Year by the Associated Press and the Star Tribune • led Hopkins to a Classic Lake Conference title when she scored a team and league-high 37 goals and had 59 points as a junior • led the Royals and the Classic Lake Conference in goals with 28 and finished second overall in points (41) as a sophomore • played five years of varsity hockey and accumulated 212 points in her high school career • four-time all-conference and two-time all-state honoree • named the Royals' Offensive MVP for three consecutive seasons • National Honor Society member • four-time academic letterwinner • attended USA Hockey National Development camps from 2007-2009.
