2020 | SUMMER Competed for the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League in addition to playing for the Miesville Mudhens of the Minnesota Baseball Association ยท slashed a combined .259/.342/.496 and paced all Gophers with eight home runs on top of eight doubles, 23 runs and 37 RBI ยท slashed .234/.369/.430 for the Loggers with a team-high six home runs while collecting three doubles, 16 runs, 26 RBI, 18 walks and three steals ยท committed just one error in the field all summer long ยท named NWL Player of the Night on July 28 after going 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs.
2020 | JUNIOR Ranked by Perfect Game as the Big Ten's Preseason No. 27 MLB Draft prospectย ยท played in 11 games including eight starts ยท batted .214/.389/.286 with one triple, four runs and two RBI across 28 at bats. Game Highlights: Made his NCAA debut and collected his first career hit in his first career at bat, finishing 2-for-5 with a pair of runs in the season opener against Oregon on Feb. 14 ยท drove in the first run of his NCAA career with an RBI triple during a 1-for-2 performance versus Arizona on Feb. 17 ยท went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk against NDSU on March 3.
2019 | SUMMER Competed for the Lakeshore Chinooks of the Northwoods League ยท selected to play in the MLB Dreams Showcase as one of the premier prospects in the Northwoods Leagueย ยท batted .211 with four home runs, five doubles, 17 runs, 20 RBI and four steals ยท recorded as many walks (21) as strikeouts at the plate.

PREP CAREER A 2017 graduate of Woodbury ยท played alongside fellow Gopher Max Meyer in high school ย ย ยท three-time All-Suburban East Conference ยท 2016-17 All-Section selection ยท 2017 All-State nominee ยท ย 2017 All-Metro honoreeยท helped lead Woodbury to back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2016 and 2017 ยท two-sport athlete in hockey and baseball for the Royals ยท also an All-Conference and All-Section pick on the ice.

PERSONAL Native of Woodbury, Minnesota ยท son of Lisa and Ron Sweeny ยท plans to study sport management or criminology at Minnesota.
WHY MINNESOTA:ย "I chose to come to the 'U' because this is my hometown. That's a big part of it. You hear so much about the culture created by [head coachย John Anderson] that it's so hard to not want to come play here. He's always got your back andย he always wants what's best for youย both on and off the field. He always looks at you as a person first, not just a baseball player. There's more to life than just baseball, so I like that."
