Took the mound in two games where he posted a 6.75 ERA in 1.1 innings after allowing one earned run - Academic All-Big Ten. Game Highlights: Recorded one out vs Hawaii (3/2) - threw one inning vs Missouri State (3/12) where he allowed one earned run on one hit.
2016Â - JUNIOR SEASON:
Appeared in three games on the mound and was granted a medical redshirt - did not allow a run in 5.2 innings and gave up just one hit - Academic All-Big Ten. Game Highlights: Made season debut versus Utah (2/21) and tossed 1.2 scoreless innings without allowing a hit - closed out the ninth inning with a flawless frame in a 13-5 win at Utah Valley (3/18) - started and got the win on the hill after throwing 3.0 innings and allowing just one hit versus Augsburg (3/22).
2015 - SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Made three relief appearances with a 1-0 record and 16.62 ERA in 4.1 innings - Academic All-Big Ten. Game Highlights: Pitched 0.2 innings at Texas (2/20) - went 1.2 innings at Richmond and added a walk at the plate (3/17) - threw a season-high 2.0 shutout innings with three strikeouts in a win over St. John's (3/31).
2014 - FRESHMAN SEASON: Made four midweek starts - had an ERA of 8.00 and three strikeouts in 9.0 innings. Game Highlights: Debuted at St. Mary's, where he pitched 2.2 innings, struck out one and gave up one run on two hits and two walks (3/19) - pitched 3.0 scoreless innings and gave up one hit against Augsburg (4/2) - also started against South Dakota State (4/9) and Concordia-Moorhead (5/7).
HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated from Naperville Central High School in 2013 - played for coaches Mike Stock and Mike Ulreich - All-DuPage Valley Conference - helped the Cardinals win the 2013 conference title and go 24-7 overall - a member of the Midwest Futures Games Illinois team in 2012 - played summer ball with the Downers Grove Longshots - won 2010 state football title as a freshman at Lake Orion (Mich.) High School - all-conference football player at Naperville Central.
PERSONAL:
Psychology major - son of Andrew and Andrea Campbell - has an older sister, Aubrey, and a younger brother, Trevor - his father, Andrew, played football at Central Michigan and Grand Valley State - lists hitting a walk-off homerun off the top of the wall in Cooperstown as his greatest sports thrill - born Nov. 8, 1994.
