Maroon and Gold in 12th Place after 36 Holes at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished day two of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M in 12th place Tuesday. The Golden Gophers posted a team score of 298 (+10) in the second round at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
Freshman Rose Solberg led the Maroon and Golf after carding an even par score of 72 in the second round of the tournament. With three birdies on the day, Solberg moved up to 34th place among the 60 participants.
Wake Forest remains in first place among the 12 teams with a 12-under-par team score of 276 after the second of three days of competition. Benedicte Brent-Petersen of Wake Forest is holding the top spot on the individual leaderboard after finishing with a score of 68 (-4).
Notable:
Emree Cameron bounced back from an early bogey to card a 74 (+2) in the second round. The sophomore penciled three birdies on the front nine to move up two spots overall.
Senior Luisamariana Mesones shot a 3-over-par 75 in the second round of play after securing two birdies. She sits in 38th place after closing out Tuesday's 18 holes.
Sophomore Lauryn Finley carded a 77 (+5) by meeting par 12 times. After a birdie on the 15th hole, Finley secured 44th place on the leaderboard heading into the final round.
Using 10 pars in the second round, junior Reese McCauley posted a round-two score of 7-over-par 79.
Looking Ahead:
The third and final round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M will take place on Wednesday, September 9. It is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with live results available via Scoreboard by Clippd.
