LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The University of Minnesota men's golf team closed out play at the Windon Memorial Classic on Tuesday at Onwentsia Club, finishing tied for seventh place after recording the lowest team round of the tournament.

The Golden Gophers fired a final-round 270 (-10) to climb six spots up the leaderboard and finish the 54-hole event at 847 (+7). Minnesota's 10-under-par round was the best team score posted by any team during the two-day tournament.

Kansas captured the team title at 836 (-4), while Cal Poly's Frederick Egnatios and UC Davis' Zhenxian Zhang shared medalist honors at 202 (-8).

Jack Crousore led the Gophers, carding a final-round 67 (-3) to finish tied for sixth place. The junior recorded an eagle on the par-5 third hole and finished the tournament at 207 (-3). Crousore posted rounds of 73, 67 and 67 over 54 holes to secure his second-straight top-10 performance.

Notable Performances

Chun-Ta Wu surged up the leaderboard with a final-round 67 (-3), highlighted by four birdies on the front nine. The junior finished tied for 15th place at even-par for the tournament.

Joe Honsa delivered one of the day's most impressive stretches of golf, firing a 67 (-3), recording five-consecutive birdies on the front nine and an eagle to begin the back nine. The sophomore rebounded from his opening-day score to finish the tournament at 3-over-par.

Finlay Galloway closed the event with a 69 (-1) and finished the tournament at 7-over-par. The freshman recorded Minnesota's fourth under-par round of the day as the Gophers mounted their charge up the standings.

Ryan Stendahl rounded out the lineup with a third-round 75 (+5) and finished the tournament at 24-over-par.
