MINNEAPOLIS- For the second straight day, the University of Minnesota tennis team split action at the Gopher Invitational, held at Baseline Tennis Center, and Husker Invitational, in Lincoln, Neb. Minnesota had five student-athletes compete in the home event, while an additional four competed in Lincoln.

Gopher Invitational Results
The University of Minnesota tennis team competed in day two of the 14th annual Gopher Invitational on Saturday going 2-2 in doubles and 1-3 in singles.
In doubles play, Jeselle Ante and Kamea Medora opened with a 2-6 loss over Northern Illinois individuals, Lucia Yecora and Natalia Varela Herrera. Anlin Xie and Anali Kocevar lost to UW-Milwaukee's Natalia Castaneda Guerrero and Valentina Vallova 0-6. Ante and Medora later earned a 6-2 victory over Northern Iowa's Yangjiaxin Li and Andrea Noa Galin. In the second round Xie and Kocevar defeated Marquettes's Lea Holmlund and Maria Poon, 7-5.
In singles play, Leina Gao opened singles action with a 1-6, 1-6 loss over Drake's Miranda Noor. Medora lost to Tommies' Lily Olson 3-6, 6-2, 10-12, while Xie defeated UW-Milwaukee's Karolina Skowronska 6-2, 6-4. Kocevar lost to Drake's Ashlee Narker 1-6,6-7.

Four Minnesota student-athletes competed in day two of the Husker Invitational on Saturday in Lincoln, Neb, going 2-0 in doubles and 3-1 in singles.
In doubles play, Mia Liepert and Ksenia Hanke defeated Denver University's Natali Jaiani and Remy Nguyen 8-2. Massiva Boukirat and Nora Knezevic won 8-6 against Kansas University's Nahyeong Cho and Caroline Manzi.
In singles play, Hanke opened with a 3-6,0-6 loss against Kansas's Polina Koneva, while Liepert defeated Denver's Remy Nguyen 6-0, 6-3. Knezevic won against Wichita State's Alisa Ozgun 6-4, 6-3. To close out day two, Boukirat defeated Missouri's Leticia Bazan 3-6, 6-4,6-1.
