Minnesota Adds Transfer Matigann Ixayvong to 2026 Roster

Matigann Ixayvong is a native of Lakeville, Minn., and will join the Gophers for the 2026 season after one year at Nebraska
MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota women's soccer head coach Erin Chastain announced the addition of midfielder Matigann Ixayvong (Lakeville, Minn.) for the 2026 season. Ixayvong will join the Maroon and Gold after playing her freshman season at Nebraska.
As a freshman in 2025, Ixayvong played in 18 games for the Huskers. Across 420 minutes, her defense helped Nebraska allow only one goal per game through the entire season.
Prior to Nebraska, she played high school soccer at the Academy of Holy Angels earning all-state and all-metro honors in 2023 and 2024. In two high school season, scored 24 goals and recorded 21 assists, while helping the team to two section and conference championships, and a pair of state runner-up finishes.
Vixayvong also played at the Minnesota Thunder Academy where she was named to the Midwest All-Conference first team and earned an invite to the ECNL Conference Cup match.
