Ostrum (Vault), Lyden and Slevin (Bars) took home individual titles
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- No. 13 Minnesota gymnastics finished in third place with a score of 196.900 at the 2026 Big Ten Championships on Saturday evening at the State Farm Center.
"It wasn't quite the day we hoped for, but we had so many highlights," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "Vault was amazing and obviously Arianna sticking and becoming Big Ten Vault Champion was amazing. Bars was really good as well, having a couple Big Ten Champions is something to be proud of. Beam was just so uncharacteristic for us but we responded on floor. We said we were going to end this meet exactly the way we wanted to and that's what we did."
The Gophers scored 49.300 on vault, 49.375 on bars, 48.575 on beam and 49.650 on the floor. The floor score was a season best and tied for the sixth-best in school history.
UCLA won its second straight Big Ten title with a final score of 198.100. MSU took second at 197.475 and Michigan finished fourth (196.800).
Arianna Ostrum was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year at the conclusion of the meet. She led the Gophers with a 9.950 on vault, tying for a Big Ten Individual Championship. She was Big Ten All-Championships Team on vault, floor and all-around.
"It's been so fun to see Arianna these past few weeks," Hansen said. "She's been gaining confidence and seeing what she's really capable of. I'm really proud of the way she's progressed throughout the season."
Emma Slevin and Jordyn Lyden also tied for the Big Ten title on bars at 9.950. It was each of their first Big Ten titles.
"It's amazing for both Jordyn and Emma to do out and do this to earn Big Ten Championships." They work so hard and they earned every bit of this. We so those routines week after week and they were huge for us today."
UCLA's Jordan Chiles won the all-around title with a 39.825. Chiles tied for the beam title with a 9.950 and won the floor title with a perfect 10.
