WEIGHT THROW AND SHOT PUT
(Weight Throw Finals at 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday)
(Shot Put Finals are at 2:45 p.m. CT on Saturday)
This year, Minnesota's representatives will compete in the 800m (Dundon), triple jump (Sow), the shot put (Nabwe) and the weight throw (Nabwe, Streit). The 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships mark the fourth straight where at least one Gopher woman has qualified for the weight throw.
Nabwe enters the championship as the No. 1-ranked competitor in the weight throw. With the No. 6 all-time throw of 24.67m (80-11 1/4), Nabwe will be aiming to secure her first NCAA title and the first for Minnesota indoors since 2018 (Kaitlyn Long, Weight Throw).
Nabwe's qualification in the shot put, as well as the weight throw, makes her the first Gopher woman to earn two bids to the indoor NCAA Championships since Amira Young in 2021 (60m, 200m). Nabwe's season-best shot put of 17.36m (56-11 1/2) from the 2026 Big Ten Indoor Championships secured her spot to nationals where she enters 11th out of the 16 competitors.
Also in the weight throw competition for the second straight season is redshirt junior Hadley Streit. The Mounds View High School graduate returns to the NCAA Indoor Championships after finishing ninth in 2025. Streit is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships where she solidified her spot in the NCAA Championship with a lifetime best 22.41m (73-6 1/4). Streit's mark, which is the fourth-best in school history, enters as the No. 8 mark among the qualified competitors.
800M
(Prelims are at 6:25 p.m. CT on Friday)
(Finals are at 5:10 p.m. CT on Saturday)
On the track, the Gophers earned their first 800m indoor NCAAs bid when Zoie Dundon ran 2:01.56 at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. Dundon's qualification is the first for the Maroon and Gold indoors in the 800m since Alena Brooks finished seventh in 2014. Dundon's lifetime best 800m time, which is also a Minnesota school record, has the redshirt junior seeded 12th heading into her first NCAA Indoor Championships.
TRIPLE JUMP
(Finals are at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday)
The lone Minnesota jumper headed to indoor nationals in Diarra Sow in the women's triple jump. With the 14th-best mark among the field, Sow becomes the first Gopher to qualify for the indoor national championships in the triple jump in 23 years with Shani Marks being the last back in 2003 when she finished sixth. Sow's season-best triple jump of 13.34m (43-9 1/4) was set back at the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center, the same location as this year's national championship.
