Del Angel and Widerstrom Earn All Big Ten Honors, Gophers Tally Medals and Personal Bests at B1G Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Minnesota concluded the 2026 Women's Big Ten Swimming and DIving Championships today, ending the four day event with another first place finish and multiple personal bests on their way to sixth place team finish.

 

Grace Drabot started off the finals session for the Gophers in the 200 IM, taking 16th overall in the "B" finals with a time of 1:59.83. 

 

Katie McCarthy kept things going in the 1650 free, finishing fifth overall with a personal best and NCAA qualifying time of 16:05.46. Jade Roghair tallied a 20th place finish in the event, tallying a time of 16:48.59.

 

Livi Wanner came out on top of the "B" finals for the 100 free, tallying a personal best and NCAA qualifying time of 48.25 for the ninth place finish. Mina Kaljevic tallied a 21st place finish in the event with a time of 49.17.

 

Rachel Conley posted a fourth place finish in the 200 fly, tallying a personal best and NCAA qualifying time of 1:55.98. Claire Reinke finished 14th overall in the event, swimming to a time of 1:59.16. 

 

Mira Keller posted a 13th place finish in the "B" finals of the 200 back, tallying a personal best time of 1:55.47. Ava Yablonski finished 16th overall with a time of 1:57.89, and Finnly Jollands finished 22nd overall with a time of 1:58.16.

 

Vivi Del Angel came away with the gold on the platform, tallying a winning score of 334.50 to earn her first platform diving conference title.

 

Minnesota closed things out with a sixth place finish in the 400 free relay. Livi Wanner launched the relay with a split of 48.80, followed by a 49.09 split from Mina Kaljevic. Morgan Thomas tallied 49.08 in the third leg, while Ava Yablonski tallied 49.41 split to anchor the relay.

 

With their wins in the 1-meter and platform diving events, Elna Widerstrom and Vivi Del Angel were named to the First Team All Big Ten. Del Angel also earned herself Diver of the Championships honors for her win.

 

The University of Minnesota ends the championships in sixth place overall with 701 total team points, 109 more points than they had in last year's championships. The University of Michigan took away the team title with 1243 total points.

 

The 2026 Men's Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships kick off next week from Madison, Wisconsin. All the action is set to kickoff on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
