MINNEAPOLIS – Freshman defender Sloane Hartmetz has been named WCHA Defender of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.
Hartmetz earned the second WCHA weekly honor of her career after recording two points and a plus-three rating in Minnesota's conference series sweep at UMD last weekend. She tallied the secondary assist on the Gophers' game-opening goal in Friday's 3-2 overtime victory before scoring her first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, in Saturday's 3-2 win over the No. 12/13 Bulldogs.
The Phoenixville, Pa., native leads all Minnesota defenders with nine points, including one goal and eight assists, through her first 10 collegiate games. Her plus-13 rating also ranks second on the team.
