The Gophers posted a score of 197.050, their second time over 197 in 2026

MINNEAPOLIS -- The No. 18 Minnesota gymnastics team moved to a perfect 3-0 record at home after defeating the No. 24 Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday night at Maturi Pavilion. The final score was 197.050-196.775.

Minnesota moved to 4-2 (2-1 B1G) while Iowa dropped to 4-4 (1-2) B1G.

Coach Hansen touched on the team's performance following a difficult showing last week at Nebraska (195.075).

"It's who we are and we performed like we do everyday in practice," said coach Hansen. "Everyone looked more like themselves and I think we learned a bit from last week. No one was trying to do too much and we looked like we were in our element today."

The Gophers posted scores of 49.100 on vault, 49.300 on bars, 49.325 on beam and 49.325 on the floor. Iowa went 49.125 on vault, 49.225 on bars, 49.250 on beam and 49.175 on the floor.

Individually, Arianna Ostrum led the 'U' on vault (9.900) and Jordyn Lyden (9.900) led Minnesota on bars. Lauren Pearl (9.900) led on beam and Sophie Swartzmiller led on the floor (9.900).

Arianna Ostrum tied for her third career event title with her career-best 9.900 on vault. Lyden won her second bars title of the season with a 9.900 while Pearl tied for her first beam title with her 9.900. Swartzmiller tied for her second floor title of 2026.

"I definitely think those performances set the bar for everyone else," Hansen said. "We have other athletes who can challenge them on each of those events, but I was really proud of those four for what they did today."

Iowa's Aurelie Tran and Sophie Schriever tied for the all-around title with 39.400 scores. Arianna Ostrum hit her career-best on the all-around, going 39.375 and narrowly missing out on the title.

Minnesota had over 50 former Gophers in attendance today as they celebrated Alumni Day at the Pav. The 2006, 2016 and 2021 teams were honored for their Big Ten titles as well.

"It's always so special when your alums come back because they're the ones that built this program. For them to be here and see a meet like this was awesome. We want them to know that we couldn't have done it without them and we appreciate all their support."
