Minnesota Welcomes Transfer Forward Katelyn Rigg

Rigg was an All-West Coast Conference forward in 2025
MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota women's soccer head coach Erin Chastain announced the addition of forward Katelyn Rigg (Olympia, Wash.) for the 2026 season. Rigg will join the Golden Gophers in the fall after three seasons at Gonzaga.
This past season, Rigg earned All-West Coast Conference second-team honors and was named a CSC Academic All-District selection. She started 17 of 19 appearances for the Bulldogs, playing a career-high 1,290 minutes. Rigg scored eight goals, second on the team and fifth in the WCC, and added three assists for 19 points, ranking second on the team and sixth in the conference.
The Olympia, Wash., native finished the season with game-winning goals against Simon Fraser, Seattle U, and Pacific. She logged five matches of 80 or more minutes, including a season-high 89 minutes in the opener against Utah. Rigg recorded six two-point performances and two three-point games.
In 2024, Rigg was named an All-WCC honorable mention after scoring six goals in 13 appearances, including six starts. She played 638 minutes and posted a .500 shots-on-goal percentage, placing seven of her 14 shots on frame. Against Washington State on Oct. 19, she scored the first game-winning goal of her collegiate career.
As a freshman, Rigg appeared in 20 matches with two starts, logging 490 minutes and scoring four goals, the second most by a freshman on the team. She finished the season with a .846 shots-on-goal percentage, placing 11 of 13 shots on target.
