Come cheer on the Gophers and honor this year's seniors!
MINNEAPOLIS - The Golden Gopher soccer team returns home on Sunday for a match against the NIU Huskies. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. CT at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. 2025 marks the fifth year Minnesota has been under the direction of Erin Chastain and her staff.

Parking for Sunday's game has been impacted by the State Fair. Lots available for fans include: Gortner Avenue Ramp, S101 Lot, SC175 Lot, and Gibbs Farm. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to honor our seniors pregame and beat the traffic. See attached map for more information on where lots are located.
Scouting the Huskies
NIU has started its season with a 1-1-1 record. The Huskies fell to Marquette 2-0, defeated DePaul 1-0, and tied St. Thomas 0-0. Tyra King scored the lone goal against the Blue Demons, while goalkeeper Morgan Lucich earned the two shutouts.
The Huskies are led by King, who earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region team last season. The forward has scored 12 career goals and recorded five assists.
Sunday marks the fourth meeting between Minnesota and NIU in the series that dates back to 1993. The Gophers lead the series 4-0 with the last contest dating back to 1996.

Paige Kalal had a standout opening weekend against BYU and St. Thomas. The junior recorded five points over the two games. She assisted Caroline Birdsell's goal against the Cougars and scored twice Sunday against St. Thomas - her first career brace.

Just last week, Top Drawer Soccer came out with its Top 100 Player rankings. Two Gophers made an appearance on the list - Kalal was ranked No. 74 while Ashley Thurk was No. 90.
Both Gophers earned a spot on the Big Ten Players to Watch List and earned All-Big Ten awards last season.

Redshirt freshman Davy Mokelke scored her first career goal Sunday evening against St. Thomas. Mokelke came off the bench and played 25 minutes, recording four shots along with the goal.

Four freshmen made their Maroon and Gold debuts last week. Tyra Chu and Mya Nugent started both matches. Chu competed for a full 90 in both games and Nugent recorded three shots.
Sawyer Danielson and Tenley Senden came off the bench in both games, contributing to Minnesota's offensive production. Against St. Thomas Danielson assisted Kalal's first goal with a long ball, earning her first career points. Senden notched a team-high seven shots, including five on goal, against the Tommies.

Minnesota will be honoring four members of its squad on Sunday. Seniors Alma Beaton, Freya Jupp and graduates Tatiana Cunningham and Mariah Nguyen. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as Senior Day Ceremony will take place pregame.
