Wethington, McCauley Garner Academic All-America Recognition

MINNEAPOLIS – Two student-athletes from the University of Minnesota have earned spots on the 2024-25 Academic All-America Women's At-Large Teams, College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday.
Hockey player Audrey Wethington received first team honors while golfer Isabella McCauley landed on the third team. A total of 46 Division I student-athletes were selected.
A graduate student from Edina, Minn., Wethington earned her first CSC Academic All-America selection as one of 16 members on the first team. The 2025 NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient has been named a finalist for WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete each of the past two seasons while earning WCHA All-Academic and WCHA Scholar Athlete honors in each of the four years in which she was eligible. Wethington was one of 19 honorees with a perfect 4.00 GPA.
A junior from Inver Grove Heights, Minn., McCauley took home third-team honors for the second straight year. The three-time All-Big Ten honoree completed her undergraduate degree in three years while landing on the Academic All-Big Ten selection list in both 2024 and 2025. She becomes just the second multi-time Academic All-America in Gopher women's golf history, joining Kate Hughes (1988-89).
In addition to certain playing time thresholds that vary by sport, other academic requirements include sophomore standing and a GPA of at least 3.50.
The two honors Tuesday upped the Minnesota Academic All-America total this year to eight as Wethington and McCauley joined soccer players Sophia Boman, Elizabeth Overberg and Khyah Harper, women's basketball player Amaya Battle, football player Ashton Beers and men's swimmer Bar Soloveychik.
The men's at-large honorees will be announced Wednesday.
