12-event campaign begins Sept. 7

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's golf team and head coach Justin Smith announced the team's schedule for the 2025-26 season Wednesday. The Golden Gophers will play in five events during the fall season before taking to the course seven times in the spring championship portion of the campaign.

For the 20th time since 2005, the Maroon and Gold will host the Gopher Invitational Sept. 7-8 and make a return to Windsong Farm Golf Club as it kicks off the season. After a week off, Minnesota continues with a short trip across the border as it will play in the Badger Invitational Sept. 22-23 at TPC Wisconsin in Madison, Wis.

The Gophers close the month of September in Lake Forest, Ill., at Knollwood Club as they battle the field during the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern from Sept. 29-30. Another trip to Wisconsin is lined up for Oct. 5-7 when the team plays in the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills Golf Course in Hartford, Wis., site of the 2017 U.S. Open.

Minnesota ends its fall season in the Sunshine State Oct. 19-20 at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational in Vero Beach, Fla., with Michigan State serving as the tournament hosts at Quail Valley Golf Club.

The spring season opens in a familiar setting away from home as the Gophers make the trip down to Rio Grande, P.R., to take part in the Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue Feb. 9-11 at the Grand Reserve Golf Club. Following an extended break, the Maroon and Gold return to the course in Bluffton, S.C., for the Colleton River Collegiate at the Colleton River Club Mar. 1-2 with the host institution being Michigan State.

The next week, Minnesota travels to St. Simons Island, Ga., as it plays in The Johnnie-O at Sea Island Resort Mar. 9-10. For the second-straight year, the Gophers have partnered with Bell Bank to host the "Pay it Forward" Collegiate in Peoria, Ariz., which is slated for Mar. 23-24 at the Wigwam Golf Club.

The month of April features a pair of tournaments hosted on Big Ten Conference campuses starting Apr. 11-12 as the Gophers head to Columbus, Ohio for the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on the Scarlet Course at OSU Golf Club. The spring continues Apr. 18-19 when the team plays in the Hoosier Collegiate from The Phau Course in Bloomington, Ind.

The postseason begins May 1-3 when the Maroon and Gold battle the rest of the league during the 2026 B1G Championships. This year's 54-hole tournament will take place in North Plains, Ore., at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
