All Minnesota Starters Reach Base in 8-2 Loss to Maryland

MINNEAPOLIS- Minnesota got contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Golden Gophers fell to the Maryland Terrapins 8-2 Friday.
Junior Joe Sperry (4-2) started and took the loss on the mound for Minnesota (22-25, ). Junior Noah Rooney was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, the Golden Gophers first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Senior Jake Perry drove in two runs for Minnesota with a single, that scored junior Drew Berkland and sophomore Charlie Sutherland. The Golden Gophers were unable to get any closer, as Maryland added five runs to their tally on the way to an 8-2 final.
