Schwartz's No-Hitter leads Minnesota Past North Dakota 8-0

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Junior Sydney Schwartz turned in a stellar performance on Sunday, throwing a no-hitter and striking out four to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers past the North Dakota Fighting Hawks 8-0.
The no-hitter for Schwartz (9-14) is the first of her career. The right-hander struck out four and walked one for Minnesota (19-28) on her way to the record books.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Minnesota's offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a two-run single off the bat of junior Breezy Burnett.
The Maroon and Gold added runs in the second and fifth innings on the way to the 8-0, run-rule, victory. Nani Valencia, Schwartz, Jessa Snippes, Tinley Easton and Kayla Chavez all registered one RBI on Sunday. Schwartz walked just one batter in her five innings of no-hit work.
